Acden Awarded ‘2018 Indigenous Employer of the Year’

FORT MCMURRAY, AB – September 19, 2019 – Acden was honoured with the 2018 Indigenous Employer of the Year award at the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Awards of Excellence ceremony on September 13, 2019.

The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board’s Top Employer of Indigenous Apprentices Award provides formal recognition of employers demonstrating a strong support of apprenticeship training.  This award recognizes outstanding commitment to recruiting and training Indigenous apprentices, helping to strengthen and diversify the apprenticeship and industry training system, now and into the future.

“An environment of training excellence has led to success for our apprentices and we are incredibly motivated by this recognition. High demand for workers with specific skills and expertise is why the attention and success of our trade shadow and apprenticeship programs remain a paramount focus for Acden”, Garry Flett, Acden President and CEO.

Recipients of this award are nominated by members of the Alberta Indigenous Apprenticeship Project team.
