Release Your Inner Foodie at the YMM Food Fest
With the 2019 Alcor Fort McMurray Food Festival less than two weeks away, this year’s ten-day event offers plenty of ways to enjoy summertime in the city.
From July 19 to July 28, local restaurants and business owners are uniting together to host the third annual Fort McMurray Food Fest by celebrating the delicious drinks and dishes served in the community – all for a great cause to support Waypoints.
Waypoints is a local social profit organization which supports victims of domestic violence, abuse, assault and homelessness. Funding will also be raised through 50/50 sales and tickets will be able to be purchased at each of the twelve events to win the 50/50 Food Fest Jackpot.

- YMMEats for Waypoints presented by Peter Pond Mall
Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 28

Participating restaurants and eateries are raising funds for Waypoints through their specially-priced three-course tasting menu. Patrons can have their passports stamped for a chance to win great prizes. (Passports will be available at the participating establishment.)

- Best Pub Food Club
Friday, July 19; 4:30 PM – 11 PM
*$100 per ticket; 18+
The Best Pub Food Club presented by S. Millard Chartered Professional Accountant takes patrons on a pub crawl around Fort McMurray with several different local venues to sample food, beverages and entertainment.
Your ticket grants you access onto the Diversified Transportation coach buses hosted by Country 93.3 and 97.7 Rock. Each venue will also be competing for your vote to win the top Best Pub Food Club titles.
Best Pub Food Club venues include Earl’s, Fox Den, The Den, Surekha’s on the Snye, Canadian Brew House, Paddy McSwiggins, Mr. Mikes, Townhall and Prime Social Kitchen.

- Anzac Beach Party

The Anzac Beach Party presented by Anzac Grocery returns to Gregoire Beach in Anzac with live music, BBQ, water activities and more beach fun. Come check out this family-friendly, free event. The BBQ lunch is by donation in support of Waypoints.

- Midnight Madness

Midnight Madness presented by Flett Manning Moore is taking the community back to the days of InterPLAY in YMM Food Fest’s newest event.
With a theatrical line-up of actors and musicians, the Midnight Madness is a must-see at Keyano Theatre. The variety showcase features acts from Theatre; Just Because and Grindstone Theatre. Enjoy delicious delicacies and mingle during the bar break and enjoy the show.

- The Food Festival Classic
Monday, July 22; 5 PM – 11 PM
*$140 per golfer, $560 per team of four
The Food Festival Classic presented by A.P.E. Maintenance is the first-ever “foodie” golf tournament. The nine-hole tournament will feature a welcome drink and appetizer with live music with a minimum of two holes featuring food and one hole with a signature cocktail. The tournament wraps up with a gourmet BBQ dinner custom-created by Chef Nate Catto in the Club House.

YMM Laughs presented by Finning Cat is a night where Fort McMurray’s comedians come together to “get saucy.” With a show full of the city’s most laughable entertainers, the night will feature a chicken wing buffet to support Waypoints.

- YMM Block Bash

YMM Block Bash presented by TELUS is throwing the ultimate Urban Market with live music, food trucks and patio games with its regular vendors of local produce and artisans from the region and extended communities. This is a free, family-friendly event with extended hours for all to take in the action.

Name That Tune with Open Mic Night presented by Enbridge is a new event on the YMM Food Fest list. Join Mike Jones of Country 93.3 for a special evening of competition with musical trivia and a chance to win incredible prizes. #WeLoveYMM Largest Outdoor Patio Party presented by Coldwell Banker of Fort McMurray is back again for its third year to host an evening under the beautiful canopy at the Fort McMurray Heritage Shipyard. Boots N’ Brews presented by Service Master Restore is bringing the best summer country party to the Fort McMurray Heritage Park for a second year. This night of Country music has an all-star line-up featuring one of Canada’s most electrifying entertainers – Canadian Country Music Association award winner Aaron Pritchett. Drunk Flamingo Project, Kelsi Mayne and local country musician Mychela will also take the stage.
Guests will also enjoy delicious BBQ eats provided by Prime on Franklin, who will also be hosting the official after-party.
