Annual Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Roundup on June 1
(Fort McMurray, AB – May 28, 2019) – Residents are encouraged to take part in the annual Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Roundup on Saturday, June 1.
This free service provides an opportunity for residents to safely and conveniently dispose of household hazardous material or electronic waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
Municipal staff and volunteers will be on hand at the Evergreen Community Christian Reformed Church parking lot (101 Tundra Dr., Fort McMurray) to collect the materials.
Household hazardous waste contains chemicals that could be harmful to the environment if they are not disposed of properly, including cleaning products, paints, adhesives, solvents, gardening chemicals, automotive fluids, old electronics and batteries.
Electronic waste (E-Waste) contains heavy metals that are harmful to the environment and includes televisions, monitors, computers, cameras, printers, and microwaves. A full list of accepted common household hazardous and electronic waste is available at rmwb.ca/hhw.

When: Saturday, June 1
Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Residents are also able to take household quantities (less than 5 gallons/19 litres) of hazardous materials and electronic waste to the landfill year-round, free of charge.
