Toys for Tickets brings holiday cheer to families in need
Motorists who receive parking tickets between Dec. 1 and 15 will have the opportunity to pay with toys this holiday season.
The third annual Toys for Tickets program will accept toys between Dec. 1 and 20 at the following locations:
- South Operations Centre (140 Saprae Creek Trail), Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- RCMP Detachment (105 Paquette Drive), Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Jubilee Centre (9909 Franklin Avenue), Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All toys will be donated to the Fort McMurray Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program, which distributes holiday hampers to local families in need.
Toys must be new, in original packaging and accompanied by their receipts. If the toy’s value is lower than the price of the ticket, gift cards and a validation slip will be accepted for the difference.
Members of the public who have not received a parking ticket are also encouraged to donate toys to the program.
