Citizen Recognition Program is now accepting nominations
Do you know an outstanding individual or group that goes above and beyond to make a positive impact in Wood Buffalo? The Citizen Recognition Program is now accepting nominations until October 1.
“Our region is full of inspirational people who deserve to be acknowledged for their important contributions to the community,” said Mayor Don Scott. “Let’s celebrate all those who make Wood Buffalo such a fantastic place to call home by nominating them for the Citizen Recognition Program.”
Nominations can be made online at rmwb.ca/champions or in person at any Municipal Contact Office.
Nominations are based on overall achievement, impact and/or contribution to the region. There is no age restriction for nominees, but they must have lived in Wood Buffalo for at least 12 consecutive months. Mayor and Councillors will select up to eight nominees to receive special recognition.
Each nominee, their nominator and special guests will be invited to the annual Mayor and Council’s Toast of Champions ceremony in January.
