Oktoberfest presented by Summit GM returns to MacDonald Island Park for its third-year
From pretzels to pilsners, this annual event is set to be barrels and barrels of fun
Steins raise for the third-year at MacDonald Island Park as it celebrates its annual Oktoberfest presented by Summit GM on September 29, 2018.
Oktoberfest is marked around the world as a celebration of Bavarian culture. It returns at MacDonald Island Park after sold-out events in both 2016 and 2017. The one-night festivity will feature live music, German-inspired food and a variety of beer available for purchase.
“Now in its third year, Oktoberfest is growing to become a signature event for the region and we are excited to welcome Summit GM as our new presenting sponsor,” says Kelsey Stefanizyn, Senior Manager of Sales & Events, Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “Residents can enjoy a traditional German experience with a modern local spin. Each year we look forward to enhancing this event for the community and the best is yet to come.”
Guests at Oktoberfest will receive a commemorative stein and can participate in a stein holding competition. Attendees are also encouraged to wear their best Oktoberfest costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed and for the stein holding competition.
Tickets for Oktoberfest presented by Summit GM are available for purchase beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 24, online at macdonaldisland.ca/events and in person at the Shell Place Box Office at MacDonald Island Park. Admission for Oktoberfest is $39 plus applicable fees and taxes. Please note this event is an 18+ event, youth/children will not be admitted.
