Learn more about draft Social Sustainability Plan priorities
A summary of priorities for Wood Buffalo’s draft Social Sustainability Plan (SSP) will be on display Friday and Saturday at MacDonald Island.
For several months, in partnership with a community based Project Advisory Committee, the Municipality has been developing a SSP for the Region. The SSP will outline priorities, strategies, and actions to improve quality of life for current and future residents of the Region.
Information has been gathered from Wood Buffalo residents, members of Council, the education sector, health services, social profit, community organizations, industry, Indigenous and rural representatives and other stakeholders in the region. Based on the input and information from these stakeholders, key priorities have been identified that will help to establish collective social sustainability in Wood Buffalo. Once the project team completes the draft SSP, it will be presented to Council for review.
Residents are invited to drop by the concourse area at MacDonald Island to learn more about the priorities, share your thoughts and chat with members of the project team. Join us:
- Friday April 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., or
- Saturday April 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The priorities will also be posted online at rmwb.ca/ssp, as of Friday, April 13.
