Wood Buffalo Gran Fondo sponsorship opportunities
The inaugural ride of the Wood Buffalo Gran Fondo on August 25, sponsored by the Wood Buffalo Cycle Club members to celebrate and to promote recreational cycling in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, participants of all ages and abilities will be welcome.
Rest stop, snacks, road side assistance, and a free lunch will be provided. Cyclist will have the choose of four different ride options (Family Ride, 50 km, 100 km, and 160 km). In May the cycling club will be offering a training program so that first timers will be ready to complete a Gran Fondo in August.
The Wood Buffalo Gran Fondo will also be part of the Alberta Gran Fondo Series which will feature five cycling events across the province. We feel that most popular rides are going to be the longer distances of 100 km and 160 km, and we emphasize participation and recreation over competition as they cycle the gentle rolling hills within the borealis forest lined highway outside of Fort McMurray.
