Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation Grants Over $700,000 from Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund
On Wednesday February 28th, the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation, Rotary Club of Fort McMurray & Rotary Club of Fort McMurray Oilsands hosted a celebration to award the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation’s grants from its Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund.
At the event, guests enjoyed dinner and a short program that awarded over $700,000 in grants from the Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund. The Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation established the Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund, when the city of Fort McMurray was evacuated on May 3rd 2016. In the wake of the Horse River Fire, donations were collected from Rotarians, Rotary clubs and individuals all across Canada, part of the United States, the Caribbean and even from Wales.
The evening was organized by Bryan Lutes & the committee of the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation. Congratulations to the grant recipients who attended and received over $700,000 to assist in their Post-Wildfire Healing and Rebuilding efforts in Fort McMurray and Region.
