The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to be participating, amongst other great venues throughout the region, as one of the hosting facilities for of the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games (Games)!  The RRC will be working alongside the organizing committee to celebrate excellence in sport through hosting a number of competitions, while also supporting a number of other celebrations with the Games from February 16th to 19th.

In advance of the upcoming Games weekend, the RRC would like to advise the community of details regarding facility hours and amenity operations at MacDonald Island Park and in Anzac during the Games.  Vehicle access and parking at MacDonald Island Park will not be restricted during the Games, parking will be available as per normal operations on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Our members and visitors should be aware that it will be very busy throughout the weekend and we recommend allowing additional time for parking and vehicle access.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate sport as we welcome the Games to MacDonald Island Park and to Anzac. We would like to express in advance our sincere thanks to our members and community residents for their patience and understanding during this busy, yet exciting time at our facilities.” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “The 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games are giving our region and our facilities the ability to shine. We are looking forward to being part of the excitement as we welcome thousands of athletes, families, visitors and guests this month!”
