Class of 2021
Volunteering with organizations such as Fort McMurray Construction Association and BILD Wood Buffalo, University of Alberta Construction Administration-certified Jordan Weston is clearly at home in the construction industry.
This Casman Building Solutions employee recently sat down with YMM and talked about her career, and the challenges and successes that come with it.
YMM: What three words best describe you?
JW: Strong – because I enjoy facing challenges. Caring – because people matter and the world needs caring more than ever. Motivated – because I am always looking for opportunities to improve.
YMM: What are you best at?
JW: Work-related, I would say my problem solving skills and the ability to get it done.
YMM: How should success be measured?
JW: For me, I would say that I have a career that I’ve managed to excel at and I get to keep on learning every day and taking on new challenges and projects.
YMM: What is the best advice you ever received?
JW: My boss often tells me to “Have faith in my skills.”
YMM: What is the most rewarding part of your career?
JW: There are many things, but I would have to say seeing people that I’ve mentored/trained succeed.
YMM: Who is your hero?
JW: I haven’t really thought of this very much, but I would have to say my mom and my brother for always teaching me to be strong, independent and always being my rocks.
YMM: What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
JW: Moving away from anything I had ever known almost 15 years ago to McMurray.
