Tis the Season to Get Moving! Treat Yourself with Fitness into the New Year
As the hustle and bustle of the holiday season picks up, our fitness regime tends to slow down. Working physical activity into the nooks and crannies of our busy schedules may seem nearly impossible at times, but it is worth it. Introducing exercise regularly into our lives can increase energy levels, relieve stress and help us work off those few extra holiday goodies we may indulge.
“There is no magic shortcut to getting fit and reaching your goals,” explains Naticia MacDougall, a personal trainer at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre (SSWC). “Ultimately it is a mixture of hard work, dedication and having fun.”
Whether you’re working on a New Year’s resolution or trying to keep-up your current active lifestyle, it is always important to take advice from a professional. Naticia is one of the SSWC’s certified personal trainers. She has 13 years of experience in the fitness industry and a Degree in Kinesiology. As a bikini and fitness competitor currently prepping for three shows, she also knows all about commitment, hard work and dedication.
“Having a mentor and fitness trainer will keep you on track,” says Naticia. “We set you up with a program that works best to reach your goals and is attainable within a balanced schedule. Trainers also demonstrate the proper form to help you prevent injuries.”
In addition to knowledgeable personal trainers, the SSWC also offers a wide variety of wellness programing to keep you healthy this pre-holiday season and into the New Year. The facility offers youth development programs, challenging fitness classes, numerous adult sport leagues, a state of the art weight room, and outstanding post-secondary high performance opportunities with Huskies Athletics.
“There really is something for everyone here, from awesome fitness classes that challenge you to a walking track to customize your own needs. With a facility like this you have no excuses and will find the perfect option for yourself,” adds Naticia.
Consider giving the gift of fitness this holiday season to help a loved one achieve their goals in 2016. Or better-yet treat yourself to some regular physical activity at the SSWC. No matter your fitness goals or workout schedule, Naticia explains that at the end of the day the main thing is to simply keep moving, never give-up and believe in yourself.
Naticia’s Tips for Staying Fit This Holiday Season & Into the New Year:
