When it comes to the best of the best in sports training, you will find the province’s most qualified fitness coaches on the Alberta Sports Development Centre (ASDC) list.

Fort McMurray resident Lanalee Pike is on this list as she is an ASDC Trainer at Keyano College’s Syncrude Sports & Wellness Centre. Teaching novice to high-performance athletes like the Keyano College Huskies, Lanalee is also a personal fitness trainer.

In 2014, she competed in the Alberta Bodybuilding Association’s Muscle Beach competition and took home a second-place title for the Bikini D category, which qualified her for the Alberta Provincials.

Two years following, Lanalee launched a personal training business, Fit Balanced Lifestyle. And, for the past three years has been providing residents with her expertise on fitness nutrition, sport-specific strength, and many other health and wellness services.

With a passion for the development of athletic performance, she is also a certified elite trainer with the International Sports Science Association. Lanalee comes with a long list of many other certifications and is currently working towards a degree in physical education.

DAWN BOOTH

Dawn Booth is a local journalist and business owner of the communication service, Media Booth. Residing in Fort McMurray since 2007, Booth has been actively working in the Wood Buffalo region as a media and marketing expert. From her arrival to the city, until November 2010, she worked as the Special Features Editor at the Fort McMurray Today. In April 2011, she co-launched snapd Wood Buffalo and managed the publication for three years, until June 2014. In March 2014, she created Media Booth and is currently working with a wide-variety of clients in the business and nonprofit sectors throughout Alberta. Her passion for volunteering in the community has given her two civic awards from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. She has also received the title for the Fort McMurray Connect's Top 40 Under 40 and is one of Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta's 2014-2015 Women of Inspiration.
