If you ever have the pleasure of tuning into 100.5 Cruz FM on weekdays from 3 p.m. to seven, your ears will hear an oh-so-loveable sound coming out of the radio speakers – that’s Shauna MacKinnon and her sparkling personality singing through the airwaves.

Her modulated voice is soothing, friendly and funny, all things that match her pleasant personality. As a coffee lover, bug lover, fossil lover and YMM lover; Shauna captives the community with her charm and her caring demeanour.

As an eclectic person by nature, Shauna utilizes her Cruz radio broadcaster abilities by raising awareness for multiple social profits and fundraising initiatives in the Wood Buffalo region. You’ll also find her at many local events, and most recently wearing her favourite hamburger hat, which she was seen wearing at the 2019 Burgers to Beat MS.

As a person living with Multiple Sclerosis for over 20 years; she has become an ambassador to her cause and the voice for thousands of others, as Canada has one of the highest rates in the world for MS with 77,000 living with the disease. In 2017, Shauna received the Alberta Premier’s Council’s Award of Excellence in Public Awareness and is currently a member of the MS Advisory Council in Fort McMurray.
