A Community Built On Strong Foundations

The members of our community never fail to step-up in whatever way is needed when it matters most. We at Casman Group of Companies understand that and will continue to admire it when reflecting on the residents and businesses within the Wood Buffalo region.

The past year has been challenging. Not only across the globe but especially here in our region from the impact of another natural disaster. However, during another challenging time, we saw the people of Fort McMurray unify.

We saw them come together to sandbag around the hospital to save it from floodwaters, witnessed local businesses donating food, drinks and their services during the flood recovery efforts and increasing donations to replenish the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.

We learned about the funding provided to residents temporarily displaced from their homes. These are just a few of the outstanding efforts of the many.

One of the main reasons we have joined with Your McMurray Magazine and Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism in the Best of YMM - Readers’ Choice program was to help celebrate the community, its people and its businesses.

We congratulate all of the finalists nominated and recognized in the Best of YMM. We applaud those who work relentlessly and face the challenges, those who have contributed by coming up with new and innovative ways to serve the community safely. All the efforts are not going unnoticed through these unprecedented times.

Every finalist had a very well-deserved spot. Casman saw this program as a fantastic way for our residents to show support for our local businesses, just by giving them the recognition they deserve.

It would not have been possible without the support and involvement from our local businesses and residents. Casman is once again so proud to be a part of such a resilient and driven community.

Celebrating Everything in Our Big Backyard!

Congratulations to all of this year’s Best of YMM - Readers’ Choice finalists! We appreciate that program was to highlight the remarkable people and businesses throughout Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, and we are more than happy to be a part of celebrating all of the nominees.

At Tourism, we have also learned how to adapt this year by investing more of our focus on a community level with our “hyper-local” marketing campaigns. We did this through our Explore Our Big Backyard campaign, which we will continue through 2021.

The campaign kick-started last summer by taking residents with us on our journeys through a video series to show them how they, too, can explore the thrill of being a tourist in our region.

From flight tours over the Athabasca Sand Dunes to jet boating on the Clearwater River - to even a simple walk through our most beautiful urban trail system found on the Birchwood Trails, we ventured into a wide variety of outdoor experiences for all ages and abilities to explore.

We welcome you in joining us in sharing your own explorations while we gear up for more backyard adventures.
