HANNA FRIDHED

Profession: Resource Development Coordinator, The United Way of Fort McMurray
Age: 30 • Years in Wood Buffalo: 3

Don’t forget to breathe!

Since moving to Wood Buffalo three years ago, 30-year-old Hanna Fridhed has fallen a little more in love with this community every day.

During her time here, she has been actively engaged in several different art projects and programs, including performing in shows at Keyano Theatre, performing and directing for Theatre; Just Because, as well as photographing and writing for several publications around the community. Hanna is also honoured to be the North Zone representative of the Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA).

Hanna takes great pride in working for the local non-profits as the Resource Development Coordinator for The United Way of Fort McMurray. She is inspired by how these agencies put their hearts and souls into making the community better for everyone, and by seeing the difference one person can have on their surroundings.

When it comes to living in Wood Buffalo, the people who create this amazing community is what makes it stand out. The spirit and inspiring engagement of the people who live here makes it incredibly special; the passionate visionaries who dare to take the leap and challenge both themselves and the people around them have made a profound impact on Hanna.

Trying new things is something that Hanna is embracing. Since moving to Fort McMurray, she has tried acting, writing, dancing, yoga, directing and modelling.

We’d be amiss if we didn’t point this out about Hanna: She is a passionate loud-mouth with an affinity for cheese, cats and well-aligned pencils, who is easily distracted by shiny objects and musical numbers.

IN HER OWN WORDS: “This is a strong, inventive and creative place to live, and I am extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to contribute to this phenomenal place that I call home.”
