Patience, perspective and energy.
Since joining the Fort McMurray Airport Authority in 2012, 31-year-old Jesse Meyer has led the rebranding of the airport, managed the development of the concession program in the new terminal, and lobbied airlines for air service to Fort McMurray, among other accomplishments.
He is currently the Associate Vice President, Commercial for YMM Airport with a broad senior portfolio including promoting the retention and growth of air service, marketing and business development, and corporate communications. His ability to build strong relationships with airline and commercial partners, local and provincial tourism organizations and business stakeholders has contributed to his success.
Jesse’s involvement in the community includes leading the development and rollout of the Airport’s Community Investment Program, as well as the Airport’s interactive public observation and historical area. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Fort McMurray Tourism as Vice Chair.
Jesse holds a Masters of Business Administration in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Alberta.
When not volunteering with the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, and the Wood Buffalo YMCA, Jesse enjoys playing hockey, road biking, running, and playing the guitar.
As one of Airport Business Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2014, and Wings Magazine’s Top 20 Under 40 in 2015, it’s no surprise that Jesse is a perfect fit for YMM’s Top 50 Under 50. His impact on our region due to his involvement at the airport, and his overall love of the community is undeniable.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: “My favourite thing about living in Wood Buffalo is being a part the community, and how easy and rewarding it is to be an active member.”
