This years’ Spring Food Drive presented by Servus Credit Union will be running a little bit different than in previous years. After being forced to cancel, alter, or postpone three fundraisers and food drives in the last year, the Wood Buffalo Food Bank (WBFB) team has decided to take a different approach.

Instead of stationing Hertz pick-up trucks at all local grocery stores throughout the weekend while volunteers collect much needed donations, the WBFB is going to come around to you! This year, with the help of our Media Sponsor - Harvard Broadcasting, the team will be coming around to your neighbourhood and collecting donations off your front steps! All you need to do is register your address and have your non-perishable items ready on your step on your pick-up day.

The schedule of the weekend will be as follows:
Friday: Stonecreek, Timberlea, Eagle Ridge, Parsons Creek & Dickensfield
Saturday: Wood Buffalo, Thickwood, Downtown & Waterways
Sunday: Abasand, Grayling Terrace, Beaconhill, Gregoire, Prairie Creek & Saprae Creek

Register your address by emailing register@woodbuffalofoodbank.com by June 9 at 5pm. A reminder email with detailed instructions will be sent out before the weekend! If by chance your address is missed that
weekend, please contact the WBFB directly.

The WBFB will also be collecting monetary donations online, and the link can be found at www.woodbuffalofoodbank.com on the Spring Food Drive event page, along with additional information.

Let us engage in some friendly competition for a good cause and see which neighbourhood can raise the most donations for our local food bank and get bragging rights! After an incredibly tough year of increased demand on services coupled with stunted fundraising efforts, the WBFB needs all the help they can get. Don’t forget that every donation counts.

The WBFB would also like to give a shout-out to our incredible community. While they are still waiting to be able to host a Food Drive that includes all volunteers and sponsors again, this is the safest method to take at this time to ensure everyone can come together next year.
