Your host team for Diner en Blanc Fort McMurray is busy gearing up for another amazing year!
2019’s Diner en Blanc is going to be our best year yet! We are excited to have two new members join our Host Team – Kristen Chalmers, working with our volunteers and Laurie Peddle, booking our entertainment, assisting with sponsors and many more tasks! Denise Hildebrand is returning as the lead host for a fourth year and is excited for you all to experience this unique “white” event.
Diner en Blanc is an international event held in over 130 cities and over 47 countries worldwide. It’s currently held in 19 cities in Canada. It has become a worldwide phenomenon!
We have plenty of room for members and guests to be part of Diner en Blanc Fort McMurray and look forward to our community gathering and sharing this beautiful, international event.
How do you attend Diner en Blanc Fort McMurray?
To attend you must put your name on our wait list to receive a registration invite www.fortmcmurray.dinerenblanc.com. Invites to register are sent out in three phases. Phase 1, a registration email will be sent out to returning members where they have the opportunity to invite friends to join in Phase 2. At each stage you are able to invite a friend to join you, finally in Phase 3 if you haven’t already received an invitation to register you will receive an invite. You will receive an invite during one of the 3 Phases if you are on the wait list!
When you receive your registration code on your invite, you’ll be led to the website where you chose the location you wish to depart from, you then pick your squad leader and that’s it your are registered to attend. Make sure to talk to your friends before you register so that you all pick the same squad leader and sit together!
WHAT TO WEAR! White of course from head to toe! Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed couple, best dressed lady and best dressed man. No pressure, we all look splendid in our whites!
FOOD! You have the option of ordering your meal from our caterer (Prime Social Kitchen) or prepare your own food to share with your friends! Members over the years have tried both. We’ve heard wonderful stories of how groups coordinate their departure location, squad leader, menu items and share the experience together. Others love that they can purchase a catered meal and pick it up at site. Alberta Liquor laws require all liquor be provided by our caterer. You can order your wine and/or champagne from our estore and it will be ready for pick up at site.
TABLES! You can bring your own table (within regulation size) or rent a table and chairs from our estore, also to be picked up on site. Part of the fun is bringing your own linens, dinnerware, cutlery, glassware, napkins, and table decorations and yes your linens and dishes must also be white! There’s also a prize for “Art of the Table”.
EVENT DAY! Your group gathers at your departure location and you are soon enroute to the secret location. The festivities begins!
This year we’ve added a new annual event to announce our date for the official Diner en Blanc Fort McMurray! “A Taste of Diner en Blanc”, will be held on March 21st. It’s more than a date announcement; it is a fun night out experiencing all things “Diner en Blanc”! We’ll be showcasing local businesses and what they can offer to make your Diner en Blanc experience amazing. There will be a fashion show, hair and makeup demos, a live auction, silent auction, swag bags, food and champagne.
