Love it then list it! King’s Kids - a 26 year strong registered Canadian charity has been gifted an out of the box way to raise some funds for their initiatives here in Fort McMurray. With the rise of HGTV and the DIY network – and frankly the Youtube how to’s – we’ve taken on a fixer upper project! In October, an anonymous donor approached King’s Kids and offered to purchase a property in need of some love, they suggested the charity enlist the help of the community to renovate it, and once its ready, it will go back on the market with the funds raised being donated to King’s Kids.
We are so excited about this new project! This is a 5 bedroom house with three bedrooms up and 2 bedrooms down in an optional in-law suite with a separate entrance, and lots of space for a growing family. We need some help to get it to a place a growing family would want to live though! We’re looking for skilled trades people, laborers, volunteers and donations of material to get this project completed. If you’re reading this and you’d like to help – we’d be so thankful for you! King’s Kids is a charity here in Fort McMurray with a mission to reach, equip and activate people to bring hope to the world through media, missions, music and mentorship. You can hear their work on the airwaves of 91.1 The Bridge, a 60/40 listener and advertiser supported radio station. Their other initiatives include The District Recording Studio in partnership with the FMPSD, youth mentorship programs like Instruments of Change, LionheART Performing Arts Camps, and family focused events like The Free Family Skates at Mac Island and photos with Santa at Dunvegan Gardens.
