(0 votes)

Since 1975, the YMCA has been serving Wood Buffalo as not only a place to be, but as a place to become. Dedicated to building healthy communities the YMCA services everyone, and are committed to demonstrating four core values: honesty, respect, caring and responsibility.

With over 3,500 members at the Westwood Family YMCA, they strive to meet the needs of all members while operating a strong, family-focused facility. With offerings in fitness, recreation and aquatics for all ages, the YMCA is helping grow strong, healthy families in Fort McMurray.

The YMCA also offers daycare and out-of-school care, offering secure, safe and age-appropriate programs that foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.

Each child is given the opportunity to grow and develop in an enjoyable, welcoming, and positive environment.

As well, the YMCA of Wood Buffalo welcomes kids ages 0 to 17 in their Child & Youth program, where they offer services such as recreational activities, health and wellness, daily and monthly events and a community centre.

KERRI JOHNSON

Kerri has always enjoyed a good story, and favours jotting them down on paper where her thoughts become way more organized. She has always called Alberta home, and delights in the tales that come from there. In her free time, Kerri daydreams, rides bikes, goes on long walks, and cries over videos about dogs. She also donates her time to raising two pretty fantastic kids who call her "mom".
