Getting to Know East Village Pub + Eatery - Step inside East Village Pub & Eatery to experience the very best of Fort McMurray

Nominated as Best Pub in Your McMurray Magazine’s Best of YMM in 2019, East Village Pub (EVP) has been a fixture in the community since opening in March 2014.

Located in Timberlea, this locally-owned and operated, upscale pub has a strong commitment to customer service and it shows. EVP cares about their team, its guests and the community.

Since its inception, they’ve raised over $500,000 for local charities in six years. EVP has also become one of the city’s foremost live music venues and have taken pleasure in hosting birthday parties, retirement dinners, anniversaries and so many more special occasions throughout the years.

Combining the atmosphere of a neighborhood pub with world-class cuisine, the EVP crew knows how to make a meal exceptional.

It’s operated by mother/son duo Mike Lambert and Cheryl “Mama Cheryl” Desmeules, and the family is at the heart of East Village Pub.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you’ll be welcomed by their Front of House team. Whether it’s a business lunch, a first date, or wine night with the girls, you can expect to be greeted and seated with a smile.

If you’ve been in a few times before, chances are you’ll be welcomed like an old friend. Be it your first time or your fiftieth, you can tell that creating exceptional experiences is their passion.

Boasting breakfast every day, and a variety of shareables, handhelds and mains, EVP’s menu continues to evolve. Each fall they introduce fresh new menu concepts. Check out some of their delicious new offerings.

Avocado Toast

A modern classic, nothing so perfectly captures simple sophistication quite like avocado toast. With two pieces of  multigrain bread toasted to perfection, topped with guacamole, arugula, grilled tomatoes, avocado and two eggs any style. This delectable brekkie is garnished with green onion and a sprinkle of paprika to finish it off. Yum!

Salmon Bagel

Transport yourself to the coast with this decadent dish. Boasting smoked Alaskan sockeye salmon generously served over dill cream cheese and arugula on an everything bagel. Take a bite and feel the memories of drive-through bagels melt away, this is truly something special.

Charcuterie Board

Seriously, is there anything classier than a charcuterie board? Let the culinary crew at East Village Pub assemble an assortment of meats + cheeses, pickled vegetables, blueberry pepper jam and a toasted baguette. Perfect for sharing or indulging solo. The only thing better than food that tastes good is food that also looks good. Instagram is going to want to see this.

Capicola Pork Chop

Dig into this mouth-watering grilled capicola pork chop marinated in Bombay Sapphire gin, apple juice and an assortment of spices. Topped off with a homemade chimichurri sauce that is unlike anything you’ve encountered before. Bring your appetite, you won’t be disappointed.

In addition to these new menu items, EVP also offers old favourites. Whether it’s their East Coast Mussels, served with a white wine sauce and garlic toast, or their incomparably creamy corkscrew Macaroni and Cheese, there’s something for every palette at EVP.

Bring the vegetarian in your life for the EVP Zoodles, spiralized zucchini served with peppers, tomatoes, and walnut pesto. Enjoy a classic Clubhouse sandwich with french fries, or share some gooey nachos with the gang.

You’ll also want to save room for dessert while you’re there, such as their decadent fudge Brownie Boat, or get something sweet to go, like their Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. Mom’s Feature Dessert changes with the seasons, so make sure you ask your server what the kitchen’s latest concoction is.

East Village Pub & Eatery strives to always improve, and to be better today than they were yesterday. Their team is committed to customer service, outstanding hospitality, and unmatched meals.

EVP has become a fixture in the community, keeping tummies full and always giving back to charity. A sense of family is abundant in the atmosphere at EVP. You’re bound to bump into someone you know here. If you don’t know anyone, you will by the time you’re done dining.

When it comes to dining in Fort McMurray, East Village Pub & Eatery stands out among the rest.

For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or maybe just Happy Hour and snacks, EVP is the place to go. Say hi to Mike and Mama Cheryl, and enjoy the charms of a neighborhood watering hole while letting your taste buds run wild with their incredible eats.
