School is More Fun When Boston Pizza is Involved
Boston Pizza’s back to school mission is to help promote learning, support fundraisers, and reward students. They want to be top of mind with families, teachers, and children in our community. Through programs such as the Hot Lunch, Operation Education, and Tools for School, Boston Pizza is proud to be able to provide such great opportunities to our local schools, and achieve any goals that they set out to accomplish.
For over 10 years now, Boston Pizza has been teaming up with the Catholic and Public School districts for Hot Lunch. They have run a successful program for many schools and are proud to offer ‘choose most often’ items that fit into the apple school program which most schools run. They have 12 different items for the kids to choose from which include a selection of our whole wheat pasta, select pizzas on our multigrain dough, and veggies and dip. They deliver to all schools and can accommodate any school as frequently as they would like between the 2 locations.
Operation Education is a program that was introduced into the school system a few years ago and has been a growing success. This program is designed to help schools raise money for any extra supplies or equipment they may need, or even a class field trip. By signing up for this program any receipts submitted from any Northern Alberta Boston Pizza (includes Edmonton and surrounding area) schools can earn a 5 per cent rebate. Included are receipts collected from any faculty member or family of a child enrolled in school, as well as your hot lunch receipts; more orders equal more rebate. Receipts are submitted to the schools and are then dropped off at your local Boston Pizza at the end of each semester, and submitted for the 5 per cent earn back. Basically, the more you can get your school dining at Boston Pizza, the more money your school will receive in return. Boston Pizza Northern Alberta donates $25,000 back to schools PER TERM each year! The best part about this program is that you can even collect even when you are out of town.
Tools for School is a program where Boston Pizza teams up with our local Staples each year to help raise money for school supplies. It runs from the middle of August until mid-September and encourages you to make any dollar valued donation at the staples which go towards tools for school. In return, Boston Pizza is proud to offer a coupon of equal value as a thank you for supporting our local schools. There is also a Tools for School mini bus at both Boston Pizza locations where donations of cash or actual school supplies can be made.
Also tied in with back to school is the Kids Card Program. This is by far one of the most anticipated programs at Boston Pizza each year. Beginning the end of August and running until October, when you make a $5 donation to Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects you receive a card for 5 free kid’s meals. That’s over a $35 value for only $5. All proceeds go towards the Foundation, with a portion coming back to our community which is donated at Boston Pizza Fort McMurray’s Annual Chew for Charity event. The goal of Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects is to be a strong role model and inspire kids to be great. They believe that programs like this are just the beginning locally on how they can help students reach their goals.
New this 2017-2018 school year will be the reading program which is designed to help encourage students to read regularly, set personal goals, and be rewarded for achieving them. Boston Pizza will be providing free kids meal coupons to schools to give to students who are dedicated to becoming better readers and achieving their personal goals
Boston Pizza has been a community member for 34 years and takes pride in partnering with our local schools. They encourage all schools to utilize these programs and even reach out to discuss new ideas and how they can help our kids reach their potential in, and out of the classrooms.
