Dîner en Blanc 2018
Dîner en Blanc is returning to Fort McMurray in June 2018 This will be the third year hosting Dîner en Blanc, an International event held worldwide for the past 30 years.
Dîner en Blanc Paris, where it all began will hold its 30th anniversary on June 3rd celebrating 30 years of friends joining friends, sharing a delicious meal at a secret location under the stars.
Fort McMurray’s Team of Hosts who are bringing the magical event back are Denise Hildebrand, Dawn Sidoroff and Carol McDermott joining us this year are Amy Laing and Tracy Shulko.
What is Dîner en Blanc? A fun, secretive, magical event that has been held in Fort McMurray in two beautiful locations, (2015) Marine Park, (2017) Doug MacRae Park at Keyano College. The idea around Dîner en Blanc is a gathering of friends of friends, all dressed in white embarking on a journey to a secret location only know by the hosts, where they will bring with them table/chairs, table linens, décor and if they wish a picnic basket filled with delicious food to share, or purchase from our e-store.
How do you get an invitation? Go to www.dinerenblanc.fortmcmurray.com and click on register or go to our Facebook page and click on sign up. This is where your name goes on the waiting list, don’t worry we have never turned anyone away who has wanted to attend!
When will I get an invitation to register? There are three phases to registration. Phase 1 is friends of the hosts and past attendees are is the first set of invitations sent out. Phase 2 is one week later, which is anyone who has been sponsored by Phase 1 attendees. Phase 3 invitations are emailed out one week after that to anyone who is on the waiting list and who hasn’t already received an invitation to register.
In 2018 we are excited to welcome a minimum of 450 guests to attend, 2017 we had just over 300, there is space for everyone!
Where will it be in 2018? That is a secret! Guest will discover the secret location only once they board their bus and their bus/table leader announce the secret location!
What is new this year? We are making a few changes that will make attending that much easier, Birchwood Rentals is joining us on site for those who rent a table, chairs through our estore. We are welcoming Prime Social Kitchen as our caterer, who will have a wide selection of meals to choose from – including gluten-free and vegan! They will provide the champagne and wine selections which will all be up on our estore to view upon registration.
There are four contests – Art of the Table, Best Dressed Woman, Best Dressed Man and Best Dressed Couple. Volunteers will be responsible for picking the winners.
We are excited to partner with Aluma/Safway who will build the stage as well as Prime Social Kitchen is returning with a complimentary glass of champagne for our guests! We are in the process of securing a new partner, who we will be announced on our Facebook page this month.
