Bottom line: He loves this city.
42-year-old Colin Hartigan has been a resident of Fort McMurray since 1986, and is a graduate of Father Patrick Mercredi High School. While in high school, he was a Rotary Exchange student for one year in New Zealand...something he credits for changing his life and perspectives.
He grew up playing youth sports in the community, and it’s here that he met his wife. Both of their sons have been born and raised in Fort McMurray, and they are proud to call it home.
A graduate from NAIT, Colin currently holds the highest level of licensing available for real estate professionals in Alberta. He opened Coldwell Banker Fort McMurray in 2006, and it is now home to 37 real estate professionals.
His single biggest personal accomplishment has been his ability to give back to the community. Colin currently is the 2016 Community Campaign Chair for the United Way of Fort McMurray, an experience he finds rewarding and inspiring as he works alongside a group of people who are relentless in the pursuit of helping our region.
In his free time, Colin enjoys coaching kids in minor hockey, enjoying the outdoors around Fort McMurray, having a campfire, and just enjoying this awesome city.
When talking about his favourite thing about living in Wood Buffalo, there is no hesitation when he says that the people of this region are the number one thing. The hidden gems like Birchwood Trails, Clearwater River Campgrounds, and Richardson River Backcountry are some of his other favourites.
Colin’s sincere love for our community, and dedication to working to improve it are among the reasons he has been named one of YMM’s Top 50 Under 50.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: “Customer first approach while using Integrity, Honesty and hard work as your compass; will result in a windfall of good blessings.”
