41-year old Nicole Bourque-Bouchier is a long-time resident of Fort McMurray, and member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation. She is the Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of The Bouchier Group.

Nicole has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, such as the Keyano College Foundation, Athabasca University Board of Governors, and co-chair of the Pacesetting & Leadership Committee for the Northern Lights Health Foundation. She currently sits on the Keyano College Board of Governors, and is the President of the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association.

Nicole has been honoured with numerous accolades including the Rotary Club of Fort McMurray Oil Sands Integrity Awards; nominated as a 2013 Girls Inc. Woman of Inspiration; recipient of the Ernst & Young’s Oil and Gas Entrepreneur of the Year Award; awarded the 2015 Alberta Women Entrepreneurs Celebration of Achievement Award, and named one of Alberta’s 50 most Influential People by Alberta Venture magazine. Most recently, she has been recognized as Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, and accepted the MacEwan University 2016 Allard Chair in Business award.

In her downtime, Nicole enjoys the outdoor living of Wood Buffalo, quadding, boating, skidooing, and spending time at the cabin. She also volunteers with her son’s hockey teams.

Nicole’s impact within our region, is indisputable. The time she dedicates to serving within the community, and her overall drive, are what makes her a perfect addition to YMM’s Top 50 Under 50.

IN HER OWN WORDS: “I came from crisis early on in life. I am the eldest child of four sisters, and lost two very early on in their lives. I think I have made it my goal to ensure that I live my best life and their passings have been my biggest learnings of gratitude.”
