Investing in our future.

44-year-old Sheryl Scott was born and raised in the small community of Bancroft, Ontario. Shortly after finishing school, she started working in a long term care facility and enjoyed a 14-year career there before deciding to take the plunge and get her Real Estate License.

In 2010, Sheryl and her husband decided that they needed to make a change, and decided to move to Fort McMurray. After a lot of hard work, and many long hours, Sheryl considers the move a success. She has earned her Hall of Fame Award - a prestigious milestone, and is incredibly grateful to her clients who made it possible.

As avid hunters and fishermen, both Sheryl and her husband miss Ontario, compounded by the fact that two of their children are out east. Sheryl enjoys being a part of this community, though, by donating time to different organizations. She was part of the organizing committee for Relay for Life a few years ago, and more recently as part of the fundraising committee for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, where they had a successful Empty Bowls Festival.

This year Sheryl became a Patient and Family Advisor for Alberta Health Services, after having worked in long term care for so many years. She credits this opportunity as filling a void in a sector she has missed being a part of.

Sheryl has committed to giving a portion of each of her commission cheques to our local schools; particularly to the teachers who lost so much during the wildfire. Believing that the students are our future, and her dedication to contributing to their education, is one of the greatest reasons Sheryl has been named one of YMM’s Top 50 Under 50.

IN HER OWN WORDS: “I live by Helen Keller’s words: “Adventure...security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
